Following are the significance of Spermatogenesis:-
- By spermatogenesis, one spermatogonium produces four sperm.
- It reduces number of chromosomes to half which is restored again after fertilisation. Thus, spermatogenesis maintains chromosome number in a species, generation after generation.
- Due to crossing over during meiosis I, spermatogenesis introduces variations in the organisms.

Answer:
The significance of spermatogenesis is that it releases mature male gametes. These male gametes are termed as sperms but more precisely as spermatozoa, that can fertilize the female gamete, the oocyte, to create a single-celled zygote. The zygote grows into the offspring through conception.
