Alauddin Khilji made several expeditions to expand his country. He conquered Gujarat that was then ruled by King Karna Dev. He attacked Chittor after Ranathambor which was the capital of Mewar region and occupied it in the year of 1303. He also sent expeditions towards south India with the help of Malik Kafur.
