Polygyny refers to the practice of a husband having two or more wives.

This is illegal in many countries but in most of the Muslim majority countries, they are legal because their religion allows the marriage of more than one woman.

There are two types of Polygyny Sororal Polygyny and Hut Polygyny. Sororal means the wives are sisters whereas Hut means the wives are independent and have their own homes.
