It states that every action has an an equal and opposite reaction.
For example-
a)When we throw a ball on the ground it comes back to us and does not just roll on the ground;this is because the ground exerts a force on the ball.
b)When we walk we apply force on the ground in backward direction and the ground also exerts force on us in the forward direction.

Hello!!

Question-
State third law of motion and give two examples to illustrate it.

Answer-

Newton's third law of motion states that "to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" or we can say "action and reaction are equal and opposite. From the word action we mean the initial force applied by the first body on second body.

Examples of Newton's Third law of motion:

1)When a boatman pushes the bank with a pole, the bank offers an equal and opposite reaction which makes the boat move.

2)It becomes difficult to walk on sandy beach, bcoz when we push the sand with our feet, the sand yields. Thus,it does not react back with the same force.

Hope it helps:)
