Arteries
1) Arteries carry oxygenated blood from the heart to all the parts of the body except the pulmonary artery.
2) Arteries have thick walls because the blood travels at a high pressure.
3) Arteries do not have any valves.
Veins
1) Veins carry deoxygenated blood from the parts of the body back to the heart except the pulmonary vein.
2) Veins have thinner walls because the blood travels at a low pressure.
3) Veins have valves to prevent the backflow of blood.
