State three precautions while taking reading from a scale .

1) Place the scale in contact with object along its length.

2) If the zero mark is not clear use any other full mark of the scale, subtract reading of this mark from the reading at other end. The difference is the length of the object.

3) Your eye must be exactly in front of the point where the measurement is to be taken.
