Explanation:

Electrolysis is used in industry for the production of many metals and non-metals (e.g., aluminium, magnesium, chlorine, and fluorine). Electrolysis is commonly employed for coating one metal with another. The method of coating one metal with another using an electric current is called electroplating.

three uses of the phenomenon of electrolysis are-

1. It is used in industries in the formation of metals and nonmetals for example aluminium.

2.Electrolysis is commonly employed for coating one metal with another.

3. electrolysis electrolysis is also used in electric appliance.

Electrolysis

A phenomenon in which Electrical energy is used to produce a chemical reaction is termed as electrolysis.

Uses :

In metal purification :

This method is useful of purification of metals like Cooper. Impure metal is anode while pure one is at cathode.

Coating of metals.

The method is commonly termed as electroplating. Basically used for coating of gold on other jewelry to give it a beautiful lusture.

Production of metal.

Many metals and non - metals can be produced by this PHENOMENON . Eg : Silver , chlorine , aluminum etc .

Hydrogen production:

Hydrogen can be efficiently produced by this method and can be used as a good fuel too.

Seperation

It can be used for seperation of hydrogen from H2O compound onto an individual and useful component.
