1.Roots are positively geotropic so they are apt for sucking water from the soil. 2.They provide anchorage to the plant. 3.Roots posses a capillary action .....it is divided into many sub branches like primary root , secondary roots , tertiary roots and root hairs so that there efficient absorption of water and minerals form soil .
