Two differences and two similarities between ‘Pinochet's rule in Chile’ and ‘Communist rule in Poland’:
- Chile was ruled by a military dictator General Pinochet. He was supported by the United States.
- The General supported the big capitalists in his country.
- The communist party was led by General Jaruzelski in Poland and was supported by the Soviet Union.
- The Communist party was ruling on behalf of their workers.
- In both the situations in Chile and Poland, the military officers had a lot of power and authority and no one could question them.
- In Poland too if anyone spoke against the leader of the party they would be imprisoned.
- No one could express their opinion or raise voices against both the government.
- There was the absence of ‘free and fair’ elections in both Chile as well as Poland.
