they are found near the tips of the root and the function is (1) to absorb water and mineral salts. Then the palisade cells is to carry out photosynthesis.

the difference is that the palisade cells have a high concentration of chloroplast which the root hair cells have an elongated outgrowth which increase the surface for faster diffusion during absorption.
