This situation is possible when the body get displaced along a direction perpendicular to the direction of applied force.

  1. For a body moving in a circular path the centripetal force and displacement are perpendicular to each other and hence, the work done by centropiptal force is 0
  2. When a weight lifter lifts a heavy weight, he applies an upward force on it but since there is no displacement the work done is zero.
