Ability of sensation:
The skin is considered as one of sense organs and sends signals through stimulus of touch or contact. It serves the function of sensing touch, pain, pressure, heat, cold etc.
Function of protection:
It forms external layer of body and hence serves the function of protection. It protects internal organs from shock or injury.
