The law of reflection states that the incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal to the surface of the mirror all lie in the same plane.

The two laws of reflection are as follows-

1. The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.

The ray is reflected at an angle the same as the angle of incidence. So, when we stand in front of a mirror, our image appears at the same distance.

2. The incident ray, reflected ray, and the normal to the surface, all lie in the same plane.

The three are in the same plane because their angles to the normal are equal. On changing the direction of the incident ray, the reflected ray will also shift and they will be in the same plane again.
