1) A Ray of light bend towards normal when it goes from an optical rarer medium to an optically denser medium .
2)A Ray of light bends away from the normal when it goes from optical denser medium to an optical rarer medium .

The two laws of refraction are as follows :-
1. The incident Ray, the refracted Ray and the normal to the interface of two transparent media at the point of incidence, all lie on the same plane.
2. The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is a constant, for the light of a given colour and for the given pair of media. This law is called Snell's Law of refraction.
Sine i / Sine r = Constant
