TWO METHODS OF SOIL CONSERVATION IN MOUNTAIN AREAS ARE :--
The best method to prevent soil erosion is planting lot of trees that is, afforestation. Plant sand trees are the protective shield to the soil which are affected by too much rainfall. Terrace cultivation, contour farming and strip cropping are also the proven in many areas to tackle the soil erosion.

•By terrace farming which is done by the creation of steps like structures which decelerate the flow of water down the slopes.
•By channeling the river from the mountains into various artificial distributaries to slow down the water flow.
•By growing crops like tea on the slopes of mountain to prevent erosion by wind.
