Two multiples of of SI unit of area are, km² (square kilometres) , and Mm² (square megametres).

To properly understand this answer, we have to know more about SI units and their multiples.

SI units and multiples :

  • There are different SI units for measuring different physical quantities. Now, there is necessity of measuring large amount of physical quantities also, for that we use multiples of a SI unit (which are 10ⁿ times the main SI unit and n is a positive integer).
  • Depending upon the value of 'n' there are some fixed prefixes which are added before the main SI unit to express different multiples.

Similarly,

  • SI unit of area = m² (square metre)
  • Prefixes : 10³ = kilo , 10⁶ = mega (the exponents are doubled in case of areas)
  • Multiples : km² (square kilometres) , and Mm² (square megametres)

The numerical values of the above mentioned multiples :

  • 1 km² = (1 × 10⁶) m²
  • 1 Mm² = (1 × 10¹²) m²

Hence, the two multiples of SI unit of area and express their numerical values in SI, have been discussed.
