specific electrical resistance is also known as electric resistivity is a property of material defining how strongly can the material oppose the flow of electric current. SI unit of electrical resistivity is ohm-meter and is represented as ⍴. The electrical resistivity of a material is the measure of how strongly the material opposes the flow of current.

Formula

We know the formula of resistivity :

resistivity = resistance × (Area ÷ length of the conductor)

ρ = R × A / L

 SI unit of resistivity

ρ = ohm × ( m^2 ÷ m )

= ohm m

The SI unit of electrical resistivity is the ohm⋅metre (Ω⋅m).
