Two properties of charge:-

• Additive nature of charge:-

According to additivity of charge, the charge of a whole body is an algebraic sum of all point charges located at different points.

Q = q1 + q2 + q3 + ... + qn

where,

Q = Charge of whole body

Q = Charge of whole bodyq1, q2, q3 ... qn = point charges

• Quantization of charge:-

According to this, charges are in the form of integral multiples. Just like, a small charge can be in the form of 2e but not in the form of (1/2)e.
