In case of moving coil galvanometer The deflection of coil θ = NAB/C

N = number of turns of coil

A = area of cross-section of coil

B = magnetic field applied across it

C = Restoring couple of suspension of wire .

Thus to have larger deflection , we  should make C small .

1. A  suspension wire is selected whose restoring couple per unit angle of twist is very small i.e Quartz  or Constantan etc .

For large deflection we are requiring stronger magnetic field B , for which stronger current is required .

2. For this the suspension wire should be good conductor also .
