British rule in India does not imply the rule of law in India. Historians have presented enough evidence to prove this. While at home the principle of rule of law was fairly implied, in colonial India the rules were always modified and controlled for profit motives. Racial superiority was seen in administration. Secondly, Indian intelligentsia was working to expose these policies and demanded greater participation in government so that the rulemaking process acknowledge Indian demands.
