Angiosperms (flowering plants) can be divided into two categories, Monocotyledons (monocots) and dicotyledons (dicots). They are divided on the basis of the number of cotyledons present in their seed.

Dicots: flower petals can be counted in multiples of four or five. Net veins. Tap roots. Vascular bundles are accreted on the perimeter of the stem cross-section. Two cotyledons in the seed.

Monocots: count the flower petals. They usually occur in multiples of 3. Parallel veins. Adventitious(spreading) roots. Vascular bundles in the stem are usually spread equally across a cross section of the stem. One cotyledon

There are two types of angiosperm. they are Dicotyledon and monocotyledon.

Dicotyledon has two cotyledons in the seed.they have tap root and reticulate venation.eg:pea,mistard

Monocotyedon has one cotyledon in the seed. they have fibrous root and parallel venation.eg:rice,wheat.
