There are various physical changes that can take place or occur when a certain substance is heated.

As for example, when a liquid is heated then the liquid starts to vaporize or evaporate i.e., evaporation of the liquid takes place.

Again, if any certain liquid is heated more, then boiling of the liquid occurs.

When solid wax is heated, the wax starts to melt... On cooling down, it solidifies again.

Similarly when ice is heated, it starts to melt, forming water.

On heating various metals to a particular required temperature, they also melt.
