Concave lens are used in various fields.
1. They are used by ENT doctors as 'head mirrors'. They have this mirrors strapped on their head. Light from a lamp is made to fall on the mirror, that, after reflection from it, gets focused on to the throat or ear or nose of the patient. The doctor is then able to examine that part clearly.
2. Dentists also use Concave lenses to get a magnified image of the teeth .
3. They serve as the reflector of torches.
4. Eye specialist's ophthalmoscope is fitted with a Concave lens having a small hole near its center. this lens helps the doctor to direct a beam of light into the patient's eye and see his/her retina clearly through the hole in the lens.
