1. A force can move a stationary body.

Example: (a) the force of our foot moves a stationary football .

(b) the force of engine can move a stationary car.

2. A force can stop a moving body.

Example: (a) the force of friction of grond stop the moving football.

(b) the force of brakes can stop a moving car.

3. A force can change the speed of a moving body.

Example: a push or pull (force) can change the speed of a moving car, bicycle etc.

4. A force can change the direction of a moving body.

Example: (a) the force exerted by the tennis player's racket change the direction of a moving tennis ball.

(b) the force exerted by the cricket player's bat changes the direction of a moving cricket ball.

5. A force can change the shape of a body.

Example: the shape of a sponge, tomato, balloon, rubber ball changes on pressing.
