State what do you understand by shifting cultivation? What name it got in Sri lanka?

shifting cultivation is done by tribal people where they clear a piece of land by burning then they sow seeds and cultivate it for 2or3years and when it become unfertile they abandoned it

heyy here is ur ans..

shifting cultivation means when crops are grown in field and they are taken out.the field was never used again and left for burning. and then again they shift to the new field and started growing new crops. this process of growing crops burning the field and again shifting to a new field is called shifting cultivation.
