state what happens when : 1.)dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water and later transferred to sugar solution
2.) a red blood cell is kept in concentrated saline solution .

1.) firstly, the dry apricots will become turgid by taking in water by osmosis (endosmosis)
when transferred to sugar solution, the apricots will lose water and become flaccid (exosmosis)
2.) the red blood cell will lose its water content into the solution and become flaccid
