Following are the hymns of different 4 Vedas of the indian vedic literature :
1) The RigVeda:-
- RigVeda contains 1028 hymns (1017+11 valakhilyas) and is divided into 10 mandalas.
- words in RigVeda : Om (1028times) , Jan (275 times),etc. 250 hymns are dedicated to Indra while 200 are dedicated to Agni
- the third mandala contains the Gayatri mantra , addressed to sun
- Saraswati is the diety river in RigVeda.
2) The Sama Veda :-
- Word Sama means melody.
- it has 1603 verses but expect 99 all the rest have been borrowed from RigVeda.
- hymns arranged according to musical notation.
3) The yajur Veda:-
- deals with the procedure for the performance to rituals and sacrifices
- it contains mantras and the latter has commentary in prose
4) The Atharva Veda:-
- it has 711 hymns , mostly dealing with magic i.e. along with personal problems of people
- it contains spells and charms also.
