Question:-

State whether

 \frac{441}{625}

will have terminating decimal expansion or non-

terminating repeating decimal expansion

Solution:-

If denominator can be expressed in

 {2}^{n}  \times  {5}^{m}

form then it is a terminating decimal,if not it is non terminating repeating decimal

625 \: can \: be \: written \: as \: 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5

625 =  {5}^{4}

We can also write this as

625 =  {5}^{4}  \times  {2}^{0}

So, it is terminating expansion
