Answers
Answer:
(E) CPI Supported the proclamation of the emergency
Answer:
(a) Incorrect Exploration–Premier Indira Gandhi who proclaimed the state of emergency throughout the country as having President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. The Constitution was formally issued pursuant to Article 352(1).
(b) Valid interpretation–Many basic rights of Indian people were suspended during a national emergency. The right to life and personal freedom can not be suspended in compliance with the constitution. The government decided to suspend even those two freedoms by dispensing with Habeas Corpus in an emergency declared by Indira Gandhi.
(c) Incorrect justification–Mrs. Gandhi's emergency was announced as another reason because of the prevalent ""internal disturbance."" The emergency continued until its departure on 21 March 1977, from 25 June 1975.
(d) Clear Reason–A number of the members of Jan Sangh, Bhartiya Lok Dal, Socialist Party and other opposition parties, have been arrested in an emergency. The leaders included Arun Jaitely, Shankar Prasad, Ravi and Swaraj. They were detained in emergency under various demonstrations and conflicts with the Indira administration.
(e) Clear reasons – In addition to the whole Congress Party, the CPI wholeheartedly supported an emergency declaration and also described it as a ""right-wing plot blow"" in the Soviet Union.
