Given :  sec minus 120 degree

sec ( - 120°)

To Find : trigonometric values are positive or negative

Solution:

sec ( - 120°)

Secx = 1/cosx

=> sec ( - 120°)  = 1/cos ( - 120°)

cos(-x)  = cosx

=>  sec ( - 120°)  =  1/cos (120°)

120° lies in 2nd Quadrant

Cos is -ve in 2nd and 3ed Quadrant

Hence cos (120°) is -ve

=>  sec ( - 120°)  is - ve

sec ( - 120°)  is -ve    (negative )

Value is - 2
