Unicellular organisms comprise of two general categories namely:

•    prokaryotic organisms and

•    eukaryotic organisms.

Examples of Unicellular Organisms are: prokaryotes, protists, and some fungi are known to be unicellular.

Some of the organisms stay in large colonies, but each individual cell is a simple living type.
