He used the formula,
c² = a² + b²
where,
- c = Biggest number in the triplet &
- a, b = Other two numbers.
Method 2:
We know,
a Pythagorean triplet = (2m, m² + 1, m² - 1)
where,
- m = Half of the smallest term in the triplet.
We observed,
10 < 24 < 26
or,
2m = 10 (smallest)
→ m = 5
Thus, the triplet is:-
[2(5), (5)² + 1, (5)² - 1]
= (10, 25 + 1, 25 - 1)
= (10, 26, 24).
Thus, (24, 10, 26) is a Pythagorean triplet.
