Monsoon region has an average annual rainfall of 200 CM which encourages agriculture that is why the main occupation of the people of this region is agriculture. The highlands of this region contains laterite soil and fertile alluvial soils are found near the river valleys including low lying areas. Due to the prevalence of hot and wet climate and seasonal changes, this region is suitable for production of a variety of crops besides the main crops rice the other crops like wheat, sugarcane, cotton, jute, oilseeds, tea, etc. are cultivated in this region, Besides crop production, this was also rich in natural resources. That is the reason why, almost 40% of the world's population live in the monsoon region
