Hello!
Inertia is a tendency of the object to resist change in its state.
Newton's first law of motion also states similar.
i.e., the object will remain in its present state unless an external force is applied.
For example:-
On beating a blanket with rod, all dust particles got removed.
Since example is related to both Newton's first law of motion and inertia, therefore Newton's first law of motion is related to the concept of inertia.
This proves that why Newton's first law is called Law of inertia.
Hope it helps!
