When we can't simplify a number to remove a square root (or cube root etc) then it is a surd. The surds have a decimal which goes on forever without repeating, and are Irrational Numbers.
3 root 25*3 root 40
=3*5 *3*2root 10
on multiplying root 10 is left in irrational form. Thus the answer is in form of a surd
