The relationship between Virginia and Duke of Cheshire is a typical romantic relationship. The young duke is insanely infatuated with Virginia's irresistible beauty. It won't be an exaggeration if we say he is head over heals in love with her. How he cries when he is sent to Eton for he does not want to go away from his object of affection. He never misses an opportunity to hang around her. He pays frequent visits at the Chase just to be with her. Towards the end, when she disappears mysteriously, he accompanies Mr Otis in spite of his clear instruction to stay at home. At her sudden appearance he is so happy; he kisses her without any inhibition. At the end , after relieving Sir Simon d Canterville of his ghostly existence, he accompanies Virginia to Sir Simon d Canterville's grave. There the interaction between the two lovers is very heart touching.
