speed of car=

when brakes were applied final velocity would become zero.

apply third equation of motion:-

0^2 - (250/18)^2 = 2*a*6

a = -16.075 m/s^2

now when speed is 250\9 m/s

s= 0^2 - (250/9)^2 \ 2*16.075

now you do the calculation
