stating opinions
There are broadly two ways in which we can present our opinion or conclusion and support it
with relevant reasons. One of them is to state the conclusion or the opinion first and then state
the reasons. The second way is to start with some facts or observations and show how they
lead to the conclusion.
Here is an example of the first method.
It is my opinion that Walt and Madge should have handed over Wolf to Skiff Miller
without any hesitation and delay. They did come to know that Wolf had originally
belonged to him. Wolf had not allowed any stranger to come close to him. But with
Miller, his behaviour changed dramatically. Not only did Wolf fick Miller's fingers,
but he also allowed Miller to examine his footpads. And most importantly, he
barked when he saw Miller. This was fike a miracle because Wolf had not barked
even once after coming to the cottage. Wolf also responded to the name Brown and
obeyed Miller's command. These points prove that Miller and Wolf knew each other
and also foved each other a lot.
Now write a similar paragraph on the opinion that Wolf should not have been
allowed to go with Skiff Miller. He should have stayed with Walt and Madge.
Read paragraphs 1-5 for reasons you can use to support your opinion.
