The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has unveiled the "Statue of Unity", the world's tallest statue marking the 143rd Birthday of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October 2018. He dedicated the Statue of the "Iron Man of India" to the Nation on his birth anniversary in Kevadiya Colony of Narmada district in Gujarat.

The Salient features of this Great Statue are:

It is the world's tallest statue standing at 597 feet. It will be 100 times taller than a man who is roughly 6 feet in height. Twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty in New York.

The Statue is located on the Sadhu Bet, 3.5 km downstream from Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The statue was built in record time of 33 months with an estimated cost of Rs.2,989 crore, and Iron was collected from all corners of India to build the statue.

Designed by Sri Ram V Sutar, who is a Padma Bhushan winning sculptor and built by the firm, Larsen and Toubro.

It has a viewing gallery and a museum dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

This Statue of Unity is considered to be the tallest statue in the whole world.
It's height is about 182 metres. 

PM Narendra Modi dedicated this tallest statue to the nation. 

The height of Statue of Unity is almost the double of Statue of Liberty.

It was inaugurated by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 31st October 2018.
