The figure of speech like personification and metaphor..

Explanation:

personification is the representation of things in human qualities or nature in abstract terms.A metaphor is a hidden comparison between two things which posses atleast a common idea. Things may be completely different from each other but would have either one characteristics in common to them. The poet personifies killing the tree to that of killing a human.wounding of a tree with knife is compared to wounding the human he tries to show the dilemma of taking garsh decision in life.here he uses metaphor to build a comparison between tree and humans.
