✳️Sports integrated activity

Students of standard VIII are playing kho kho.
The distance between the two poles A and B is 13 metres.
Represent the position of Mina , Nita and Rama at a distance of 2 /13 ,
6 /13 ,10 /13 from Pole A by drawing a number line.

Also find the distance between Meena and Rama and Meena and Nita.
Compare the two distances.

Given :- Students of standard VIII are playing kho kho.

The distance between the two poles A and B is 13 metres.

Represent the position of Mina , Nita and Rama at a distance of 2 /13 , 6 /13 ,10 /13 from Pole A by drawing a number line.

To Find :- the distance between Meena and Rama and Meena and Nita. Compare the two distances.

Answer :-

from image we have,

• First number line shows AB = 13 m .
• Second number line shows from 0 to 1(A) .
• Mina = (2/13)
• Nita = (6/13)
• Rama = (10/13) .

so,

→ Distance between mina and rama = (10/13) - (2/13) = (8/13)

and,

→ Distance between mina and nita = (6/13) - (2/13) = (4/13)

now, comparing both distances we get,

→ (8/13) > (4/13)

therefore, distance between mina and rama is greater than Distance between mina and nita .

or, we can say that,

→ Distance between nita and mina = (4/13) = Distance between Rama ans nita .
