steam produces more severe burns than water at 373 k

it is so because steam contains latent heat of vaporization which gives it more heat energy than compared to water at 373 k

the reason
since water when convert to steam has taken up latent heat of vaporization
so
steam has extra heat due to latent heat therefore cause more severe burns
