steam produces more severe burns than boiling water.why?

because steam is hotter than boiling water. Because once water reaches a certain temperature (212 degrees) it turns to steam so in order for it to just be boiling water the temperature is less than that. Mirrors become fogged because the steam from the shower comes in contact with the cold mirror and condenses into small water droplets

steam produce more sever burn than boiling water due to latent heat of evaporation..........steam has more heat energy then boiling water
