Stella wonders why it is said that large intestine is also an important part of the digestive system, even though it does not have any role in the digestion of food. Can you explain the answer to her?

Large Intestine is also an important part of the digestive system because from the small intestine the undigested and unabsorbed food moves  to the large intestine . Inside the large Intestine , the water is the unabsorbed food is absorbed . The solid waste after absorption of water from the large intestine is sent to the rectum.
