stem cells are non-specialized cells which are naturally found in embryos, and bone marrow
-these cells can divide quickly, and develop into different types of cells such as bone cells (osteocytes) and adipose tissue fat cells(adipocytes)
-stem cells are also made in laboratories, and these are known as induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSC's)
-the advantages of stem cell treatment is that when a person's own stem cells are used for replacement of tissues or organs, there is no risk of rejection of the tissue or organ by the patient's body, and the stem cells can be formed into any type of cell
