Let,

• First Number be = x
• Second Number be = y

A/C to question

(Sum of two Number = 3000 )

==> x + y = 3000 ------------------Equ(1)

And,

(8% of one number is equal to 12% of the other .)

==> 8% of first number = 12% of second number .

==> 8 * x /100 = 12 * y /100

==> 8x - 12y = 0

==> 2x - 3y = 0--------------------------Equ(2)

multiply by 3 in equ(1)

==> 3x + 3y = 9000 -----------------Equ(3)

Add equ(2) & equ(3)

==> 5x = 9000

==> x = 9000/5

==>x = 1800

Keep value of x in equ(2)

==> 2 * 1800 - 3y = 0

==> 3y = 3600

==>y = 3600/3

==> y = 1200
