Stephanie drives her electronic scooter 9km north. She stops for lunch and then drives 7km east. Whats the distance and displacement?

displacement=11.4 km

As distance is the total length of the actual path .Therefore distance =(9+7)km=16 km

Now,displacement is the shortest path between initial And final positions

therefore,in this case,is given by using phythagoras theorem I.e.

  \sqrt{ {9}^{2} +  {7}^{2} }  =  \sqrt{ 81 + 49}  =  \sqrt{130}  = 11.4
