Steps For Writing Chemical Equation :-

For writing chemical equation, the following points are keeps in mind.

  • The symbols and Formulae of reacting substances (reactants) are written on the left hand side with plus (+) sign between them.
  • The symbols and Formulae of various products are written on the right hand side with plus (+) sign btw them.
  • An arrow sign (➜) or sign of equality (=) is put bye the reactants and products.

For Example !!

Consider the reaction of Zinc with dilute sulphuric acid to produce zinc sulphate in solution and Hydrogen gas. The reaction may be written as :-

Zn + H2SO4 ———> ZnSO4 + H2

Step → (i) write down the name of compound.

Step → (ii) write down the symbol of combining element.

Step → (iii) write down the atomic number of the combining element.

Step → (iv) write down the electronic configuration [E.C] of the combining element.

Step → (v) find out valency of combining element.

Step → (vi) crossout valencies = Criss Cross Method .

Step → (vii) simplify if it is possible .

Step → (viii) write/express the final formula.
