the plants in the desert have spines instead of leaves but they have fat stems as there is water shortage in the deserts tthe photosyenthesis occur in the stems so that less water is used they also store water in the stems in this way photosynthesis occurs in desert plans

Desert plants take up Carbon dioxide at night and prepare an intermediate which is acted upon by the energy absorbed by the chlorophyll during the day.
