steps taken by government to protecy wildlife . the indian wildlife protection Act passed in 1972 in which various provisions for protecting habitatswas launched and a list of protected species was also published. . ban hunting of endangered species by govt. giving legel protection to their habitats and restricting trade in wildlife. . central and many state government s established national parks and wildlife centuries. .The central govt. announced several projects for protecting specific animals which were gravely threatened such as project tiger etc. .the indian elephants,black buck,the great indian bustard one horned rhinoceros etc threatened species have been given full or partial legel protection against hunting and trade throughout india.
